Nishith Kaal - An auspicious time for worship
What is Nishith Kaal
Nishith Kaal is a period of two Ghatis that is one Ghati before the midnight and one Ghati after the midnight. One Ghati is equal to 24 minutes. Thus the duration of Nishith Kaal is about 48 minutes.
The importance of Nishith Kaal -
Nishith Kaal is considered a very auspicious period. Nishith kaal is taken to worship Lord Shiva on Shivratri and to worship goddess Lakshmi on Deepawali.
