When is Ramdevra Fair in 2017
Every year Ramdeora fair is held from Bhadrapad Shukla Dwitiya to Bhadrapad Shukla Ekadashi. In the year 2017 Ram Devara fair is from 23.08.2016 to 31.08.2017.

Important things about Baba Ram Dev and Ramdevra Fair - 
> Ramdev ji, who is popularly known as Baba Ramdev, was born on Saturday, Bhadra pad Shukla Panchami in Samwat 1409.
> His father was Ajmal ji and his mother was Maina De.
> The birth place of Ramdevji is Undu Kashmir (in Barmer district).
> In Samwat 1425, Ramdev ji established a village named Runicha which is now known as Ramdevra. It is 12 the north of Pokharan in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan.
> It is believed that Ramdevji was one of the forms of Lord Krishna.
> Ramdev ji took Samadhi on Bhadrapad Shukla Ekadashi in Samwat 1442.
> Every year a fair is held at Ramdevra. This fair is dedicated to the folk deity Ramdev ji.
> The Hindus and the Muslims worship Ramdev ji with equal respect. The Muslims call him Peer or Ramsa Pir and the Hindus call him Baba Ramdev.
> It is said that Ramdevji had devine powers.
> Every year thousands of pilgrims go on foot to Ramdevra to have the Darshan of Baba Ramdevji. They come from Rajasthan, Gujrat, Harayana, Madhya Pradesh etc. Some of the pilgrims go to Ramdevra on foot. On the way to Ramdevra at many places, Bhandaras are arranged by the devotees of Ramdevji. In these Bhandaras the Jataroos ( the people who go to Ramdevra are called Jataroos) are served with food, tea, break fast etc. The Jataroos can also stay there at night. These Bhandaras have proved very fruitful to the persons particularly to those who are from the weaker section of society.

What is Sagai or Engagement or betrothal :- 
Engagement or Sagai is a kind of agreement between two persons ( a male and a female) to get married.
Factors to be considered for the Muhurat for Engagement :- 
The following factors / variables/ things are considered for the Muhurat for engagement -
(1) Tithi - Dwitiya, Tririya, Panchami, Saptami and Dashami, of both of the Paksha i.e. Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha and Pratipada of Krishna Paksha and Trayodashi of Shukla Paksha.
(2) Vaar - Monday, Wednesday. Thursday, Friday.
(3) Nakshatra - Ashivini, Rohini, Mrigshira, Magha, all the three Uttaras, all the three Purvas, Hast, Chitra, Swati, Anuradha, Mool, Shravan, Dhanishtha, Revati.
(4) Chandra Shuddhi / Chandra Bal - On the day of engagement, the Moon must not be in the fourth or eighth or twelfth Rashi from the name rashi / birth rashi of both the persons who are being engaged.

Prohibited Period - Engagement ceremony should be avoided during Bhadra (Vishti Karan), combustion of Guru and Shukra and Chaturmaas.

When is Dasha Mata Vrat in Gujrat in 2017
In  Gujrat Dasha Mata Vrat begins on Shravn Shukla Pratipada and ends on Shravan Shukla Dashami Tithi.
In the year 2017 Dasha Mata Vrat begins on  24.07.2017 and ends on 02.08.2017.
Important things about Dasha Mata Vrat -
> This Vrat is popular in Gujrat.
> This Vrat is dedicated to goddesses Dasha Mata who is believed to be the incarnation of goddess Parvati.
> The women folk observe this Vrat for ten days in honour of Dasha Mata , which begins from Shravan Shukla Pratpada and ends on Shravan Shukla Dashami. They eat food once a day. Each day the story of dasha Mata Vrat is told and heard.
> It is believed that this Vrat of Dasha Mata brings prosperity and happiness in the family.
> A small image of Dasha Mata, made of clay, is worshiped for ten days and then on the tenth day this image is immersed.
